The Story of Engr. Jamiu Badmos

Engr. Jamiu Badmos is the founder of the QHSES Leadership Academy, a prestigious and tuition-free social innovation academy driven by a passion for humanity and envisioned to develop Sustainable Leaders who strive to have a positive impact by creating a sustainable future.

Engr. Jamiu Badmos grew up with a strong belief that skill development is the cornerstone of personal development and resilience in life. He established a coaching academy for high school students in 1997 by providing affordable tuition fees and scholarships to the underprivileged and disadvantaged in the Lagos area. He has a mission to create opportunities by helping students prepare for exams and pave the way to self-reliance, giving them the opportunity to build bright futures and better lives through skill development to earn a living.

His first project was Pacesetters Tutors, a coaching academy established to provide opportunities for children in the local community of Lagos. The Academy's goal was to support students through the high school curriculum and prepare them for various exams from 1997 to 2014. One of the lessons he learned was the key role of the setup process in preparing for the day-to-day operations and growth stages of the business.

Building the first academy as a social entrepreneur was a difficult road in a harsh local environment where students were exposed to harsh conditions. A good understanding of the local culture and language proved to be an asset.

The second project is the QHSES Leadership Academy, where people are inspired to make the world a better place. One of his main challenges was gaining recognition, but the support of various partners and professional relationship management strategies enabled the Academy to focus on health, safety, and environmental issues.

The QHSES Leadership Academy has emerged as an academy for Health, Safety, Environment, Quality (HSEQ), and Sustainability professionals who are developing projects that are aimed at community-oriented growth. The QHSES Leadership Academy, under the guidance of Engr. Jamiu Badmos is also accredited by the Roxbourg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship (RISE), Switzerland, to coach candidates to earn their Roxbourg.MBA degree.

“At the Academy, we passionately believe that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint for a better future for all. We are focused on supporting professionals who drive community-based projects or ventures that address the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to build a more sustainable world,” explains Engr. Jamiu Badmos.

The QHSES Leadership Academy is looking for partners to support students of good social engagement by donating tuition fees and hosting more students in Lagos.
