The Story of Ramkrishna Sameriya
Ramkrishna Sameriya is the founder of Pioneer Dom LLP, a social venture supporting rural entrepreneurs in India.
Ramkrishna Sameriya decided to become a social entrepreneur when he noticed that rural entrepreneurs were facing challenges because of poor planning and a lack of resources. He also observed a strong willingness among rural entrepreneurs to learn and try new solutions in order to improve the development of their ventures. He traveled across 15 states of rural India and connected with rural communities through workshops and seminars in order to understand the challenges confronted by farmers and rural entrepreneurs.
During this foot-walking journey “शोध यात्रा (Shodh Yatra), he reflected on life and purpose. He wanted to take an active role in the development of rural India. He published “Rural Call”, a blog compiling stories of rural entrepreneurs. He learned invaluable lessons from this early venture.
The 5 lessons learned are:
(1) to have a coach or mentor who could support you during the development phase of your venture;
(2) to have a clear purpose and ambition;
(3) to identify potential obstacles and risks with a clear business model;
(4) to believe in yourself and your idea; and
(5) to learn from your mistakes as it will improve the decision-making process for any future projects.
Today, he is supporting 37 rural entrepreneurs whose ventures are indirectly impacting 5,000 lives. Ramkrishna aims to build an academy that supports rural entrepreneurs in India. The mission is to develop skills, knowledge, and competencies for finding solutions to rural entrepreneurship challenges and encouraging positive change in their communities.
Pioneer Dom welcomes any support that will contribute to creating a positive social and economic impact by raising awareness of rural entrepreneurship through volunteering, advocating for encouraging social entrepreneurship or sponsoring rural entrepreneurs to join the training programs. By working together, we can create more impact and achieve greater success.
